Carnival!

Des continued to smell the various scents of the carnival as he pulled Rei along with him. He quickly stopped at the first ride he saw. The round-up. It was just a big top that rotated sideways.

"This is what we are going on first. Come on!"

Des ran forward past the gate and strapped himself into the contraption and smiled wide. He was ready to have some fun for once in a long time.

Rei snuck off while Des was distracted by the Round-Up. She was going to have some fun, too, but not necessarily in the way that Des intended. Rei raced across through the carnival, nimbly avoiding contact with people. She needed sugar and lots of it.

Des watched as Rei walked away and the ride began to speed up. Every few rotations he looked to see if he could spot Rei. He didn't want to lose her in an unfamiliar place. The ride started to slow down and Des stumbled off kind of woozy.

"R-Rei, w-w-where are y-you?"

Des stumbled across the grounds and stopped at a carnival game.

"You sir. Have you seen a girl? White hair, sunglasses? Ahh let me play this game first. Darts eh? I'm good for it."

The man handed Des some darts and he took them. Des took a few minutes before throwing the first dart at the balloons. He missed. Des cursed under his breath and threw the other 2 he was given. Each shot was a miss. Des got a little angry and whipped out his gun from the holster.

Des shot the balloons which caused a loud bang and some people to duck and cover.

"God damn game. This is rigged isn't it? WHERE IS REI! Tell me or I will kill you!"

Des was clearly angry at not winning the game. He held the gun pointed at the game vendor's face.

Rei walked through the carnival eating some cotton candy. She had hidden her trench coat and pulled her hair back as best she could. She raised her eyebrow as several security personnel ran past her in the direction she was coming from, then shrugged and continued on. It was only a matter of time before her plan was set into motion.

As Des continues to point the gun at the man, the security crowded around him with their billy bats in hand. They asked him to please lower his weapon. They totally disregarded the fact he was in the military.

"Excuse me? Do you not know who I am? I am Des, Lieutenant of the 34th regimen in the military. You best put those beating sticks away before I hurt you all."

Des lowered his gun and snickered at the security surrounding him. He knelt down and dug his finger into the ground. He began to draw a circle and odd shapes inside.

"I ask you once more, lower the beating sticks or face the consequences. I am here to enjoy a day at the carnival. Please allow me to do so. Why don't you go find my friend. White hair, and sunglasses. Bring her to me."

The security guards hesitated but slowly lowered their weapons. Two of the set off to find the person he was talking about. The game vendor dropped to his knees and began praying. Des rose to his feet and crossed his arms waiting to see if these incompetent guards would deliver Rei to him.

He soon noticed the Ferris Wheel. This is what he really wanted to come here for.

"YOU! Bring Rei to the Ferris Wheel, i'll be waiting there."

Des took off towards the Ferris Wheel leaving the guards dumbfounded.

Rei sat calmly on a park bench, sucking the sticky remains of her cotton candy off her fingers. She looked up at the sky over the rim of her sunglasses and watched a bird fly over. It was nice to sit and relax for a while. Shouting caught her attention. She looked down, over her sunglasses still to watch what was happening. What she saw alarmed her.

Several security personnel were point and running at her. "What the crap?" she muttered as she slowly stood and began to walk away. Sure enough, they followed her. She grinned wickedly and took off running.

She easily outran the security people and hid herself behind a large oak tree. She looked around to see if she could find any more pursuers. Not seeing any, she quickly climbed the tree and hid among the branches.

"Not what I expected," she chuckled. "But it works."

Des waited impatiently as the guards failed to produce Rei for him. He finally got into the Ferris Wheel seat and pouted as it began to spin up into the air. The higher he got, the more intrigued he got as to where Rei was hiding. He couldn't spot her nowhere so he decided to do something stupid.

Des pulled out his gun again and shot the Controls causing the Ferris Wheel to halt while he was at the top. He placed his hand over his brow and peered across the vast land that was the carnival.

"REI! I'M UP HERE! WHERE ARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU RUN AWAY! COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! I THOUGHT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE FU--."

Des was caught off guard when his cell phone began to ring. He pulled it from his pockets and looked at the caller ID. It read 'Commander'. He knew well not to ignore his boss.

"Yes sir..Yes...yes..I under-...yes...of course....i'll be there."

He hung up the phone and peered over the seat of his cart. He studied the structure of the broken ride and saw a pattern.

"REI! URGENT BUSINESS HAS AROSE. MEET ME AT THE ENTRANCE!"

Des hopped from his seat and began climbing down from metal beam to beam. The civilians gasped as he fell from each beam down to the ground. When his feet finally planted on the ground, he brushed himself off, stuck out his chest and began walking towards the entrance.

If anyone had been able to see her, Rei would have been mortified as she listened to Des bellow from the top of the Ferris wheel. She wondered whether going with Des would be worth it. She smirked and dropped from the branch she was on, breaking into a sprint the instant she touched the ground.

She reached the entrance of the park before Des did.

[Destinykil]

Des came to the entrance to see Rei standing there waiting for him. He smiled and gave her a thumbs up. As he approached he patted her on the back and nudged her forward.

"Got a call from the higher ups. Seems like the troops I deployed to Centra are in a little bind. You game to kick some ass? Of COURSE YOU ARE! Let's roll out!"

Des gave her a salute and ran out of the theme park into the crowd of people.

(exit, to centra!)

"I got here by train so I'll probably leave here by train as well," Rei said, hopping out of the cart and walking along side it. "Where do we need to go with your apples?"

[zergio]

We entered the carnival, people staring at my cart.

"Heh, people keep saying I should use a car. I prefer this nice cart~ Anywho, I need to head to the manager, since thats where im doing the deal, and where im gonna learn where he wants the tree"

[Yoyo]

"Ah, that's over here," Rei said, taking the horse's reigns from Will. She led them to a smallish building off to the side. "Horses and carts are better. Keep this beauty," she added, rubbing the horse's neck.

[zergio]

"I completely agree~ Thanks again for helping me Rei. I really do owe you"

The rides caught his eye.

"How about we ride a few rides?"

[Yoyo]

"Work first, rides later," Rei said, smiling her crooked smile. "Let's get this stuff unloaded."

[zergio]

We're directed to the candy booth to deliver the apples. We arrive there and I jump out

"Lets get to work ^^"

[Yoyo]

"Righto," Rei said, grabbing a sack of apples and taking it behind the booth where she set it down. "How many of these do they get?"

[Where'd the first person come from? xD ]

[zergio]

[[We were at the main place, and I fast forward 5 minutes? XD;]]

4 Dozen. It was a large order. They also ordered some apple trees, so I brought seeds

[Yoyo]

[I saw that. Try to keep it third person. xD; ]

"It'll be a long time before those trees grow," Rei said, grabbing another bag of apples and putting it with the other.

[zergio]

[sorry. I keep it like that alot of the time though]

"True. but I can't transport grown trees, so im planting seeds. I'll be payed over time as the tree grows. Of course im gonna care for it ^^"

The cart shakes

".______. Was..... was that the egg?"

[Yoyo]

[ I saw, but it's more story-like if it's third person, past tense when you post. :3 ]

"I don't know," Rei stammered. "But we have better find out. It could be bad if it hatches here and someone in league with those bandits sees it." She jumped into the cart and uncovered the egg as quickly as possible.

[zergio]

The egg is cracking and shaking the cart with it. Will jumped in the cart to see what was going on.

"Crap, it is hatching! Rei, can you take it in my cart somewhere safe? I still need to plant those seeds. I'll meet you in 30 minutes."

Will took the seeds and ran off to the site that the seeds are gonna be planted.

[I dunno whats gonna hatch XD; help me?]

[Yoyo]

Rei watched in horror as Will ran away as his egg began to hatch. He had been so protective and curious about it and then just left. She pushed the lack of logic out of her mind and dumped the last of the apples with the others. Leaping on the horse, she led it out of the carnival to a small clearing just outside the entrance she had spotted on their way in.

Once in the clearing, she made a search of the surrounding trees. Not finding anybody, she returned to the cart and unhitched the horse. The cart was still shaking. The egg itself had a single crack on the side of it.

"This'll be interesting."

[zergio]

Will quickly went on his business, planting the seeds and accepting the cash in 20 minutes. He then went and tried to find Rei, calling out for her.

[Yoyo]

"There you are!" Rei said, grabbing Will's arm from behind. "Come on, you have to see this!"

Rei practically carried him out of the carnival and into the clearing where his cart stood in the middle, his horse tethered to a tree. She dragged him all the way to the cart and pointed inside, red eyes shining bright.

In the box that Will had placed the egg was a small red bird. It was a bit of an ugly bird, but Rei was full of excitement.

Will was speechless. Meeting the eyes of the bird was just too amazing. He slowly walked to it
