Rei accepted the sunglasses, grateful for being able to hide her red eyes. As soon as she was out of this blasted military booth the better.

"We probably could have just walked, you know," she said, confused by the extravagance of it all.

Des raised a cautious eyebrow.

"Why walk when we can ride in style? Walking is lame. Anyways, we are coming up to our stop. Let's move out."

Des motioned his hand forward as if he were ordering his troops. He rose from his silky seat and exited the booth walking towards the exit. Just as he approached the exit of the train, the whole thing jerked to a halt. Des stumbled a bit and caught himself on a nearby guardrail.

"God dammit! Who is driving this thing? I almost fell."

The passengers close to him cowered back into their seats. The vendors came running to the angry voice of Des. They all began explaining to him what had happened but it sounded like a bunch of hoopla when they all were speaking at once.

"Shush up all of ya. I can only listen to one of you at a time. You! Go check on the female in my company, make sure she didn't hurt herself. The rest of you, console the passengers."

The vendors gave a sloppy salute to Des and moved out in all directions. Even though he was ill-tempered, somewhat careless, and a slacker, he commanded people with such prowess.

Rei rose from her seat and shook her head. She apologized to the poor vendors and the other people in the car before chasing after Des yet again. She had a feeling that if she continued to be around the man she would somehow end up far worse than she could imagine.

"But he could lead to some fun."

Des exited the train and took a large inhale of breath. He released it and affixed his eyes on the ferris wheel in the distance.

"You see that? We are almost there. Come on Rei! We don't have time to waste, I could be called into action at any moment."

Des began to push his way through crowds of people yelling and ordering them to move out of his way. Civilians dare not get in the way of the military because of their history.

"Come on Rei, don't fall behind."

Rei breathed deeply, glad to be free of what to her had been a constricting military presence. She chased after Des, keeping close to him, but just far enough away to look like she was just taking advantage of the parted crowds. Several others did the same.

Finally she gave up on looking inconspicuous and focused on keeping up. The man was excited and moving faster than she. "You need to learn some manners, Mr. Military Man," she hissed.

"Oh come on Rei. We need to get there fast. I can't spend all my energy asking people to move. They know what to do..ALAS! We are here."

Des stopped in front a huge gate that was slightly opened. He kicked the gate open and the gates swung very fast. A civilian almost got struck but was able to move out of the way just in time. Des walked through triumphantly and approached the ticket booth.

"YOU! Two tickets right now! Don't make me wait."

The cashier started to sweat and shake a little bit. The little man had never been in contact with any military before because they never go to the carnival. He quickly rung up two tickets and handed them to Des with an unsteady hand.

"Thank you sir."

Des saluted the cashier and grabbed Rei by the arm and dragged her into the carnival. The smell of fried dough and candy apples lingered around his nose. His eyes lit up like the sun.

"Manners. Definitely need to teach this guy manners," she grumbled as she was pulled through the carnival gate.

"I wonder what he'll do if the tables turn."

Zayden stepped off the train with a dark look on his face, holding a crinkled map in his hands. He glanced down at it and then back up, glancing around the crowd of people exiting and entering the area.

Am I in the right place?

He wasn't sure. He twirled the map right and left, not entirely positive if it was upside down or right side up.

*Sigh*....I think I'm lost...Jeez, this sucks.

Zayden took a step forward to make way for a young woman and her daughter, feeling increasingly annoyed. How was he suppose to carry out his orders if he didn't know where he was?

Emi ran through the crowds, making as much noise as possible. "Yippeee! Yays! Woohoo!" She clutched a container in her hand but as she jumped in the air she released it making it roll towards Zayden. "Opps!" She immediately began to run after it.

Zayden picked up the container that bumped against his leg, staring quizzically at it before realizing that there was a girl stumbling towards him. He held it out to her.

"This yours, ma'am?"

Emi ran up to Zayden and then came to a halt. "Yesh! It is! Thank you, I thought it would run away forever!" She then began to jump up and down in excitement and relief.

Zayden smiled at the girl's enthusiasm before suddenly blushing. "Well, it's a good thing I was here to grab it." He laughed nervously. He rolled the container around in his hand, wondering what was inside.

"It is! It is! It is a super good thing!" Emi watched as Zayden rolled the container around. She then laughed. "Just don't open it m'kay, hehe! Everything will pour out, haha!"

"Hmmm.." Emi thought carefully before answering. "It is my water! I need lots of it in case I run out, yeps!" She smiled widely at Zayden before beginning to clap.

Tosh popped up from behind Zayden, making creepy laughing noises and shrieked out "BANZAI!!"

Completely caught off guard while he listened to the girl explain what was in the container, his reaction to the sudden sound make him scream.

"AH!" Zayden backpedaled and fell down on his butt.

As Emi spotted Tosh she began to jump up and down. "Tosh! Yays!" She then stopped when Zayden fell. "Awwws nos! Is yous alright?! Still breathing?!"

Tosh laughed and grabbed Zayden's hand, picking him up and dusting him off. "Sorry about that! Couldn't help it!" Tosh said laughing again. Noticing Emi, she hugged her.

Zayden smiled nervously before nodding and scratching his cheek. "Yes, I'm fine. Sorry....bad nerves." He eyed the girl who scared him and snapped his fingers. "Hey! I remember you! Tosh, right?"

He picked up the container that he dropped, handing it to the girl. "Sorry about shaking it all up. I didn't catch your name, by the way."

Tosh nodded as she hand both Zayden and Emi two wrapped pouches of cookies. "Gotta roll! Need to go do something!" Tosh said running out of the place and as soon as she got out, clapped her hands together as she ascended into the air, gliding towards Rei's bookstore.

"I'm Zayden." He grabbed the cookies and watched as Tosh took off, blinking in surprise.

"She's.....quite different." He muttered to himself, stuffing a cookie in his mouth.

"Ohhh, cookies! Thank you Tosh, and byes!" Emi shouted as she waved to Tosh. "It is awesomes to meet you Zayden! Yays!" She said as she returned her attention back to Zayden eating one of the cookies as she did.
