Maria joined in with the kicking. She soon realized her hearing was improved. Much too improved. She heard a pebble drop down in the vent, and the sound made her grab her ears and cry out in pain.

"DAMNID SCIENTISTS!!!" She began to beat on them even harder.

Dante walked over and pulled Renee away from the bodies. "Beating their dead bodies won't fix anything Renee." He looked at her with concerned eyes.

Dante sighed. "It's nothing that bad Renee, you know what else they could have done." He sat next to her, putting a comforting arm around her.

Dante smiled. Seeing her happy had cleared his thoughts. "Well, you wouldn't be the first I know to like being a chimera. And if you were turned into a pet, I guess I would be busy taking care of you."
