Renee's little hideaway

The military dropped her and Kotaro off at a small house and drove away. Renee owned this little place. As soon as the truck was out of sight, she set it on fire, smashed her communicator, and unstrapped Kotaro, taking him a few hundred yards away. At a small hill, she reached for a tree root, and pulled on it. To Kotaro's surprise, a door slowly opened, reveling a tunnel to another door. She pushed Kotaro in and closed the tunnel's door with the other end of the root. She brought him to the other door and opened it, reveling a small, hidden, modest house.

"Costed a fortune to make this place. Most people would say that, but I managed, since the military used to pay top dollar for my guns."

Renee went and opened her fridge, pulled out a can of Soda, took a seat at the table, and cracked it open, smiling.

"Welcome to my little hideaway. Take a seat, and I'll explain what I just did."

Kotaro remained sient. He sat down and faced her. He wanted to look away.

"You see, I didn't want to hand you over to the military. I'll never want to. So, I burned the other house. It will look like you went on a rampage, and that I was killed. So, I just did 2 things.

1: I "killed" myself.
2: I've made you "Go missing".

Renee took a sip of soda, then patted Kotaro's cheek.

"Listen bro. Im really sorry for what I almost did earlier.........but, even after that, you still tried to protect me. Refuse all you want, but im repaying the favor. If we can change your looks around, you can go and do whatcha want without worry. As for me? Little snip snip, hair dye, and wardrobe change, and it will be as if I never existed ^^"

Kotaro looked down. "I'm sorry..." He choked up before he could even begin to apologize. He placed his hand over his face. "You should have killed me there. It should have ended there." He looked up at her. "I almost killed you. I wanted to. I was smiling the whole time." He looked down again. "You were right. I am a monster."

Renee shook her head.

"Your eyes just showed you things the wrong way. Its like the water. When you look into it, what seems to be there really isn't."

She wiped away the creeping tears in his eyes.

"We both almost killed each other. You came to your senses. You knew what was going on. Me...? One moment, I reported for a mission. Next, I was pulling the trigger on a shotgun to your head."

Renee looked down, saddened. "A true monster can't control him/her self. You felt the desires, but you came back to your senses. Me? I can't control myself. If I hadn't come back to my senses right then and there....... you would of died right before me."

She wiped her eyes. "Im broken, and they're trying to fix me, their way. You? You aren't broken. You may have tried to kill me, but you didn't."

Renee went silent for a little. "Kotaro..... your like the big brother who pretends to be a monster under the bed. You scare me. You frighten me. You make me wanna cry. But, always, in the end, you come out from hiding and give me a biiiiiig hug, comfort me, and tell me everything's alright."

She looked up, smiling, then hugged him, speaking like a child, on purpose, now.

"Big Brother, we're not monster's, right? We're both human, with our flaws, right? I don't like being a monster... and you don't ether. So, we're not monsters then, right?~"

Kotaro looked up at Renee. It wasn't the same. She was controlled by the military when she was going to kill him. He did it willingly. And he had smiled at doing it. It was killing him. He hugged her when she hugged him. "No, we aren't monsters Renee. We not."

Renee smiled and sat down again.

"Your problem is mainly your emotions, I think. Do you ever go rampant when your anything but extremely angry?"

Kotaro looked at her. Rampant? Did she mean the red lightning and how he had acted? Kotaro shook his head. "Only when I am angry or depressed." He closed his eyes. He still didn't understand the red lightning or why he seemed to change when it was used.

"Exactly. We're both flawed when it comes to our emotions. You, however, seem to activate some kind of power during points of negativity, which then engulphs you during your points of vulnerability."

Renee laughed and bonked her head. "When did I get so smart?"

Kotaro looked at his right hand. That's where it always seemed to appear. He looked back at Renee. "The military captured me not long ago..." He remembered those days in the Central prison.

[zergio]

"Well, now they have no idea where you are." Renee said. She took out her cellphone and made a quick call, then hung up. "A friend of mine is coming to help us "change", of you get what I mean."

Kotaro nodded, still looking at his hand, but there was another thing that kept bugging him. Every time he had seen the gate, that strange outline had told him it wasn't his time, and he was sent back. No matter what had happened to Kotaro. He looked at Renee. "Sure..."

About 30 minutes later, a knock came at the door. Renee walked over to it.

"Were you followed?"

"No I wasn't"

"Does anyone know where you are?"

"No, Renee."

Renee then opened a door, a woman with two trunks walking in. Renee rubbed her hands together.

"Time for a makeover~"

Kotaro stood up and looked toward the newcomer. "Hello." He wondered just what they could do to change his appearance, not everyone had a scar on his chest from the prison riot. especially one this wide. His hair was also a problem, as well as his eyes. His eyes crimson and hair jet black, dye wouldn't do anything. He walked over to them.

The stylist gasped at Kotaro, then grined. "A challenge, eh? This one will be a challenge~ But first, I will work on Renee. I wanna save the best for last~"

Renee and the Stylist walked into a room and closed the door.

Kotaro sat down on a nearby chair, leaning on his hand. He wondered what would happen to Renee after the makeover. She couldn't go back to owning the gun store.

About 30 minutes later, Renee walked out of the room. She looked nothing like herself. Her hair had changed color to a blue like shade, she was wearing a dress, and she even had a bow in her hair.



Renee brushed the hair from her eyes and smiled. "H-how do I look?"

Kotaro looked at Renee and his mouth dropped open. "Uuuuummmm....." He was at a loss of words. She looked completely different. "You uh.. look great." He smiled.

[zergio]

The stylist popped her head out. "Don't forget about your name! and you, Tall hansom boy, come here and allow me to work on you~"

Renee giggled a little and smiled. "You can call me..... Maria now~"

Kotaro shut his mouth quickly and nodded. "Right. Maria." He shook his head. She looked completely different, but he didn't get how she could changed like this. "I'm coming." He stood up and walked over to her.

[zergio]

The stylist pulled him in and smiled.

"I got all sorts of dyes. I also got lots of clothing, colored contacts, and even wigs. You say it, and I'll do it~"

Kotaro walked out of the room an hour earlier. His hair had been dyed a silver hue but still retained some signs of black. He still had his crimson eyes, he refused to wear any contacts. He wore gloves over his hands. "Well?"

Maria blinked. "And you are?"

Renee laughed a little. "Now, we need a name for you~"

Kotaro scratched the back of his head. Now he needed a new name. He sighed as he thought a bit. He thought up a name on the spot. "Dante. It was my fathers name."

Maira clapped her hands. "Hello Dante~"

Maria then nodded. "Kotaro and Renee no longer exist. We will explain to Tosh, and to a couple others. but other then that, we're Maria and Dante now."
