Keixth closed his eyes hoping for lady luck to come by his side.

"Request granted, Prince Keixth," the emperor said. He looked at Zane. "And I shall employ you your services to escort him in the prince's appointment till he comes back here, understood?"

Zane looked at Keixth first then to the emperor, bowing slightly. "Yes, your highness."

keixth took a deep breath and then said "Thank you your highness" Keixth bowed and stood up.

Zane bowed to the emperor, then to the princess who looked worried at them. He smiled. "Please be at ease, princess," he said. "I shall make sure your groom-to-be will come back here safe and sound."

And the princess smiled, though small, but her eyes showed great relief.

Keixth took a deep breath and sighed.
"thank goodness it was over." Keixth was sulking in the corner.
"I've never been nervous. . . I thought my alchemist days are OVER!"

Zane chuckled. "How amusing, royal prince," he said. "But you'll be stuck with me for a while, it seems. I must admit, this is not really part of my job description but I can make an exception."

Zane laughed. "Well, for starters," he said. "Now that we have bought time, we can find a way to change the emperor's mind. That's what you want, right? It's either we find someone else that the princess falls in love with or prove the emperor you can't marry yet..."
