As soon as Kotaro confirmed what they fear, Von Karm, the judge, fainted.

Resha looked at Kotaro who seemed rather amused. "Were you expecting that?" she giggled. "But, I'm glad... your death sentence is no more."

Dante's smile grew wider as Von Karm fainted. It was worth it to see that.

He turned to Resha. "Resha, there are worse things then death in this world."

"Oh! You know, I think I remember Von Karm now," she looked at Kotaro.

She tilted her head. "What do you mean?"

Dante nodded. "I still don't."

Dante's face turned grim. "Think if Zane was suddenly killed, and it was because of you." He hoped she saw his point.

She grinned. "You probably don't," she said, nodding. "It'll make sense if you don't, actually. You were asleep when he saw you and I was sorta looking at your vitals then, if I remember right. Or something."

Soon enough she understood what he meant. "Oh," she smiled sheepishly. "I don't think I'd be able to live. I think... I think I will die myself then."

Dante nodded. "So he was at the lab...." He said looking at him.

Dante's hair covered his eyes, but his expression was still grim. "So that proves my point that there are worst things. I had to live through multiple deaths. But you already know that." He looked at Resha. "They will find the worst possible thing they can Resha. No matter what it is."

She nodded. "But big brother shot him... but I can't remember what reason," she placed tapped her cheek, trying to remember. "So maybe that's why he's so scared?"

Resha smiled. "I understand," she fixed his hair so that it wouldn't cover his face. "But as long as you live, you can make things better."

Dante thought for a moment. There ware times when he was in the tube before he was even fully grown that he had seen them, when his eyes developed. He remembered that moment.

Dante sighed. "Make things better...." He looked at her. ".....I've been trying to do that my whole life."

"You remember it now?" she smiled.

She took a deep breath before replying. "Everyone does. Not only you. Every person living tries that, do that, whatever or however they can. Living is not easy but dying on it when you can still do so much is cowardly."

Dante nodded. "I remember seeing him. But that's it. Before I was even fully grown."

Dante sighed. "All I do is cause more trouble Resha. No matter how much I try, it always ends up with someone hurt." He looked away. "I already killed you once. I killed Kairo, Kyte, Will, everyone is dying." He shook his head. "And I can't do anything about it."

She frowned. "Kotaro," she looked at him with disappointment. "How many times do I have to tell you?" she sighed. "That's not how it is."

Resha grasped her other arm. "If you continue thinking that way, even I have my limits - I won't be able to help you."

Dante closed his eyes. She was right, but he couldn't shake it. He knew it wasn't his fault they all died, but it still crushed him. "Resha. I don't know much. But I do know that I can't help everyone. Its just choosing who to help that crushes me."

"This may sound mean but, you're not perfect, Kotaro," she said. "You're not the first to make mistakes. You won't ever not make mistakes. So just hold your head up high, help those you can and live. Live for yourself, not for anyone else."

Dante sighed. "I wish it was that easy to change my ways Resha. But I value others lives above mine." He looked at her. "I know I'm not perfect, if I was I would have been able to save everyone." He nodded. "I do watch out for myself, and I won't throw my life away unless there is a damn good reason for it."

She shook her head. Reasoning with him now wasn't going to work anyway.

"Just think about more what I said," she said. "It's gonna change how I think either... my brother once told me: 'if you value other people's lives and want to help them, you should start with your own - value it and help yourself first, destroy all thoughts that will bring you down, only then can you achieve anything.' It's something I live by now."

Dante sighed. Wise words. He looked at Resha and managed a small smile. "Thanks." He said weakly. He looked around the courtroom. Now to wait for my punishment.

An officer neared them. "Please wait at the defendant's lobby," he said. "Until prior notice - like, when the judge finally awakens."

He looked at her. "Oh! And doctor Resha, do you.. perhaps know how to contact the general? The officials are rather in panic at what he could be doing or where he is now..."

She shook her head. "I'm sorry, I don't have any ways to get hold of him. How do you even get a hold of him when the military asks for his service?"

Dante nodded and headed to the lobby. He went passed Resha and the officer toward the lobby. The punishment will probably be a favor for the military. But what?

He shook his head, kinda embarrassed to tell. "From what I know... the military only... finds him by chance."

She smiled sheepishly. "Oh. Sorry for that, uhm! Good luck though! Don't tick him off, mmkay?" Resha said as she walked to the lobby.

Dante looked up at Resha. He sighed and leaned in the chair. "Since jail isn't an option they might have me do a favor. I don't know what."
