"Theres just..... something im doing wrong. I play the notes right, but it just doesn't have the same sound. With voice, you can easily add emotion to a song. Its harder with instruments. Without the emotion, its not the same"

"Mm, yes, that is the problem of instruments," Rei said, nodding. "You use your alchemy to play those chimes. How much emotion have you put in your alchemy?"

"Not alot, and I think thats the problem right there. All I do is focus on doing it right. Till now, I never thought of this as the reason why"

"Emotion has a lot to do with alchemy. What emotions you use change what you make, even if it's hardly noticeable." She stretched her back, her arms raised above her head, taking a deep breath while doing so. "How much emotion you add to it changes it, too."

"I just usually made it do it on its own. but, to make it sing, I'll have to constantly control it with emotion ^^"

Rei wrapped her arm around the boy's shoulders and gave him a sideways hug. "You know, I'm glad I met you, too. And normally I don't like kids," she added playfully.

"My parents live in a small town in the southern half of the east part of Amestris." She laughed at how odd the phrase sounded, then grew more somber.

"They're rather close to Ishval."

"Well, I never had a younger brother so I'm not sure what a big sister would act like," Rei said, leaning forward with her forearms on her knees. She looked at him sideways and smiled. "But I'd probably treat him about like you if I had one."

Rei stood and leaped down the stairs in a single leap, covering most of the distance between the two. "Cheater!" she called after him as he raced ahead.

Ace wandered into the library. "Maybe this place will have books on birds. After all, I have a very special request from a very handsome enterpriser here. Plus it beats going to her book store. She's so mean to me!"

Ace frowned and searched through the library, wishing an owl was there to help.
