Eltore smiled happily and pulled out a droor with crossbows, bolts and throwing knives in it. "Here, take 12 bolts and throwing knives, a crossbow and my broadsword for the course. Place your weapons here, Resha went through the same course with the same weapons."

"What do I see...?" maybe the thought hasn't sunk in it yet. But she could not see anything. So she went with that. "I see... nothing, Keixth. I see black. Are we in a cave?"

He looked at the weapons laid out. "Hm," he took a dozen of the throwing knives and left the rest. He wouldn't use a crossbow unless he had no choice. At the same time, he rather have nothing slowing him down.

Eltore nodded, still beaming. "The rules are simple, kill all the targets without being detected. Each of the dummies can see and hear, if you are detected, you must start again. There are 6 patrolling dummies in the first 3 rows, and at the back of the room where it is pitch dark, there are 6 more dummies. Those six have heightened hearing, seeing as there is absolutely no visibility at the back of the room. You will have 2 hours to finish the course, and there will be no time resets"
Eltore pulled out his pocket watch, "On my mark. Get set. Go!"

But she couldn't cry about it, and she didn't even feel like it.

Zane ran through the course, hitting the first six dummies without a problem - hiding from the sensors felt easy; he had been doing it for years. At the same time, he had been counting the seconds.

When he got into the dark room, he paused for a while. He knew he had to be more focused. But he trusted his instincts on this one, where his sense of sight was useless. A few sounds of thuds and he was done.

He walked back to Eltore, with one spare knife. If he had counted the time right, he ran the course for 22 seconds. Too slow for me, seeing I had nothing to weigh me down.

He closed his pocket watch. "22.5 seconds. You topped my personal best. Not to be unexpected, but congratulations," Eltore beamed, clapping Zane on the back.

"don't worry i said goodbye to the guys for you" Keixth chuckled.
"oh! hahaha i was on a mission then i found out that they were training you to be an assasin. You do know your brother doesn't like you fighting right?" Keixth said.

Zane nodded at him and retrieved his cloak. "Thanks," he said. I need to work on my speed. I've been slowing down, even back at the mountains...

He looked back at Eltore. "Just what is this brotherhood all about?"

"It's goals are similar to a mercenaries, but what the true goals are, are locked in the archives. I have not gone there in years. For all we know it could be to guard a secret cupcake recipe. But that would be unrealistic...still a funny thought though," Eltore snickered.
Alisa caught up and slapped the back of Eltore's head. "Idiote! Our job was to keep the peace between the old kingdom and the people, remember?! That was the job of your ancestors," She scolded.

She waved her hand forward, trying to find Keixth and held on his... cloak, or so it felt.

She smiled, even though she can't see where he was. "I see, thank you," she said then bit her lip. "That's right... big brother doesn't want to. But you see, they said they'll help me find big brother and tell me about him. They seem to know a lot about him too. Like they know I'm his sister."

"I told you. In time your brother will come to you. Don't go looking for him. He's worried if you do reckless things like that" keixth sighed.

Good girl. He smiled at the scene in front of him. "So keeping peace between the old kingdom and the people? But you do know that there is no longer a kingdom here. Our reality now is that this land is overseen by the military," he said.

"And with that said, what goal keeps this brotherhood running? Doubt you don't know what it is - or if it changed or what. You don't seem the type to do something without a reason to."

Alisa spoke up, seeing as the one with the ancestry had no idea of what was going on. "For now, our job has little change to it, keep the peace between the people and the military. But because there is no money in that, we are similar to mercenaries for hire, only more skilled and for much higher price."

Zane almost laughed. "Peace between the military and the people?" he looked at Alisa. "Yet you put a price for it. Now, should a random fight between the military and the resistance," he then looked at Eltore.
"Who would you help? ...or would you not help at all without being paid by one side or the other?"

This time Eltore stood. "We would not stop until the leaders of both groups were dead. Once that would be accomplished, there would be anarchy, yes, but it would allow the country to rebuild," He said solemnly.
Alisa stared at him, shocked. But not because of what he said, but because Eltore actually knew what the plan was in that situation.

Resha laughed. "Okay," she grinned. "I'll do my best to stay out of trouble!"

She wanted to look back at the tavern but she realized, even if she's facing it the right way, she can't even see.

So she opted to just grip Keixth's sleeve. "Really. So brother knew I was in trouble... does that mean he's never really far from me?" Somehow, that just seems lonelier.
