Eltore gave Zane his weapons back. "I hope you do not forget, should you choose to stay the night, or eat here, it is on the house for you and your family."

They walked down several dark passages, each one twisting so many times that even someone with a photographic memory would be able to keep track.
100km into the planet's surface, they reached the vault. Bars of gold were stacked to the 10m high ceiling. "Choose any two hundred bars. My assassins will drop them off at your residence every day until you have them all," Eltore said, still sounding cheery--rather creepy by the way.

"Which is, you should see, an inconvenience," he said; gold bars were fine, actually. But then he'd have to go and convert them - you can't go to a store and pay with gold bars.

And it's a hassle to go back to the black market, since auctioning Keixth was a blunder.

"I don't see why you would convert your money into bars, honestly. It's usually the other way around. Get with the times, Eltore."

He had only just remembered that they had opened a checking account last week. And the brotherhood already had 16mil in the bank.
