"I... was... able to break through it! The darkness...!" she finally got out, her getting choked up from tears.

Takashi skid to a stop in front of Tosh and Dante, guarding them as legions of shadow began to surround them.

Able to break through it? She broke through? But that meant it was still there. His eyes focused on the legions of shadows. "I can't move."

"Well I could tell by the way you looked beaten up." Takashi said as he shot 3 fireballs forward, blasting away some more shadows. "But luckily, I got a plan to get us outta here."

"please tell." Dante said as he tried to move his body. There was no movement save his little finger wiggling a bit.

"Well, you know how this things are pseudo shadows, right?" Takashi started. Tosh nodded. "Well, with enough light, then these shadows can disappear for a while, soooo..." Takashi raised his hand as he began to charge a large fireball.

That was smart thinking. Light the whole place up. He still couldn't move but at least Takashi had a plan. "Help me up." he told Tosh.

Tosh held up Dante and looked to Takashi for the next step of the plan. Takashi ran towards the ledge before jumping off, Tosh following close.

Dante watched as Takashi and Tosh jumped off the building. With him. When they landed, he grunted. "Almost can move again."

"That's good to hear!" Takashi said as he landed in the front of the driver's part of the jeep he found. Tosh used her wind to land her and Dante softly in the back.

Sadness. That had been the faint feeling he had heard from her. Before she had hurt him, there was just the faintist sound of sadness. And then when he apologized, there was the look of surprise. He thought he also saw some regret.

As Tosh brought him into the jeep he managed to move his arm and pull out the soul stone from his pocket. He stared at it, as if staring at something missed.

Whatever his experiment told him, it wasn't the whole story. She wouldn't hunt to kill him just because of aquired emotions. There had to be something else. Something that hurt to much too bring up. Something she was trying to forget. “Why can't i remember....." he muttered to himself softly. He closed his eyes and closed his hand around the soul stone. "Why would you explain all this before killing me? what was it you were hoping i would remember?" He couldn't even remembered what he had named her. Yet he remembered it had been a she.

He focused hard on the stone.

Please tell me....... he asked hoping the stone could contact her.

Tosh's eyes widens as they flash purple, an instant connection coming in between her and Dante.

As Tosh's eyes flashed Dante found himself in the darkness. It was all around him, like a black ooze. He didn't see anything else.

"I know you can hear me." Dante told the darkness around him. "I also know you weren't telling me everything. You were hoping for me to remember it on my own."

A small lightt appeared in his hand. "I was diffeent, very different, then i am today when i created you. But haven't you noticed i haven't aged a bit since then?" He held up the light. "Can you at least give me the name i gave you?"

All was silent before the darkness began to spoke. "Lucy.... you named me Lucy..." she said in a calm tone now.

"And you're right... that is not the whole story. I had been to enveloped in rage to bring forth accurate reason. As you know, after I killed off the rest of Ishvalans, I began to feel their pain, their sorrow, all the emotions that ate away before their death. That's when I truly began to realized..." Lucy paused before she began again.

"I felt like you carelessly took away the lives of people because you thought they were a waste... just more annoyances... like you thought I was. After you found out I wasn't like what Lock was, you said in your own words... 'Just another waste of materials.' At that moment, I truly began to feel emotion. Empty, distraught, not wanting to exist. You said that you may come back and work on me; but those words were never fulfilled. Working endlessly on Lock, I just became a waste of space in your eyes, not even wanting to bat an eyelash at me.... Lock was too perfect to you as I was nothing... I didn't want to be nothing... I wanted a reason to live... And I took it all out on the people around me and on you..."

"Lucy...." Dante reeated to himself. He had given her a name but had he really been that careless to her? Leaving her to wok on Lock? No, if she was a waste of materials then back then he would have gotten rid of her. And he hadn't even finished Lock, like her, he had been put ino storage. He did remember he was going to terminate Lock, but a vague memory of him thinking of something to do with his other experiment. Lucy.

"Lock was a failure, in fact he was worse of one then I thought you were. He was able to take human shape and the voices, but lacked the means to be a success." He said to the darkness.

The more she spoke the more he realized something. Emotions or no emotions, se was trying to prove to him that she was worth something. "You wanted to feel accepted by me, so you hesitated at killing me."

Tosh's body materialized from the darkness, hugging Dante. "I am temporarily borrowing her body...'

As the Darkness faded away Dante found himself back in the jeep, the stone in his hand still.

Tosh was still hugging Dante, asleep now. Takashi looks back with a raised eyebrow.

"Don't get too frisky back there." he commented, chuckling.
